The RIo Branco Lodge or Uruguay Duck Hunting Club that it has gained as the name - is located on a private rice farm with thousands of rice fields and a modern irrigation system so that water holes and consistent baiting provides consistent duck hunting throughout the duck hunting season.
The duck hunting season in Uruguay is May to September with anytime being a good time. That's right. The beginning of the season is always exciting. To be out in the duck blind in Uruguay on day 1 of the duck hunting season is a memorable event. The Uruguay ducks you will experience is mainly teal, and lots of them.
Hunting pressure is an unknown in Uruguay and the Uruguay ducks seem to know that. The Uruguay ducks come right into the decoys and really enjoy the baiting that our guides and scouts undertake everyday.
The Rio Branco Lodge hosts up to 8 sportsmen per week. The lodge includes 4 double occupancy rooms, each with a private bathroom. The living room is a main area for meeting and talking and enjoying new found duck hunting friends.

- Arrival city for the Rio Branco Lodge and Fortin Lodge: Montevideo, Uruguay (airport code=MVD). American Airlines provides a direct flight from Miami to Montevideo several evenings per week. See the travel site below to check fares and schedules to Montevideo and some awesome Uruguay duck hunting.
The Rio Branco lodge is located near Rio Branco, Uruguay. The drive time from the Montevideo airport to the lodge is 4.5 hours. The host will meet you at the airport and transfer the group to the lodge.
- Lodge occupancy: The Rio Branco Lodge hosts up to 8 hunters per week. Double occupancy rooms (private bathrooms). The real benefit at Rio Branco is the close proximity to the duck hunting blinds --5 to 15 minutes to the Uruguay duck hunting spots.
- Uruguay Duck Hunting Season: May 1 to September 15
- Included in the daily rate: guided duck hunting, rooms, meals, beverages, wine, beer, guns (NEW Beretta 12 ga), and tips. Los Gauchos accepts mastercard and visa and deposits are only $500/hunter.
The duck hunting license and the ground transfer are paid with your final statement. You will pay for your shotgun shells the last day of the duck hunting trip.
