The Los Gauchos Rio Branco Lodge is a dedicated duck hunting lodge located about 4 hours from Montevideo, Uruguay in the rice fields of Uruguay. On a private farm that harvests rice, this site is Uruguay duck hunting paradise. The ducks have the bait (rice) and the water (a modern rice farm that irrigates the land) source to find a good place to flock each season. Over 11 species and a duck hunting season that lasts from May to September, the ducks are plentiful all season long.

Los Gauchos Outfitters has professional guides and a host that speak English and have been working and "hunting" with clients for many years, so bring your gear and get ready for some of the best duck hunting in Uruguay. Rio Branco. The lodge is a comfortable lodge with many modern upgrades such as satellite tv and internet capability. Remember, though, you are in the depth of rice fields and away from city noise, traffic or buildings, so the internet is not high speed and the tv may not pick up your favorite baseball game.

The rooms are double occupancy with private baths associated with each room. The Uruguay duck hunting season is May 1st to September 15th; however, Los Gauchos, understands what September means to North American hunters- school for the kids and the beginning of dove hunting season. So we book May, June, July, and August.

The Uruguay duck hunts are typically 3, 3.5 or 4 days in length. Flights can be arranged by our office (no additional fee) and we meet you at the airport in Montevideo, Uruguay and make sure you get back to the Montevideo, Uruguay airport for the departure flight. The only fees you pay at the lodge are for your shotgun shells.

Fortin-Los Gauchos Outfitters Uruguay Duck Hunting and Perdiz Hunting

Fortin is a new Los Gauchos Outfitters affiliation for Uruguay duck hunting and Perdiz hunting. Again, the best duck hunting in Uruguay is located in the eastern part of Uruguay and Fortin is near the town of Chuy, Uruguay. It is about 4 hours from Montevideo, Uruguay and the international airport and has some great fields, farms and water sources for the Uruguay ducks.

This area of Uruguay also has Perdiz, the upland bird that is a nice addition to a Uruguay hunting trip. The Perdiz are a low volume bird similar to a quail or pheasant. The added benefit is the work of the dogs and the guides that make this hunt such a good one to participate in while duck hunting in Uruguay.

Fortin is a hotel accommodation; however, during duck hunting season in Uruguay, only duck hunters are guests at this small but very comfortable estancia.
